Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu has launched the call for local public authorities to participate in the European Village 2 program.
According to the official, the second project aims to fully support all localities for the construction of aqueducts.
The European Village Program initiative was launched less than two years ago by President Maia Sandu, because local budgets are too small for large projects. Also the head of state at the December 9 mayors’ forum asked the government to launch the call for European Village 2 as soon as possible.
Through the European Village program, development projects of localities in the Republic of Moldova were financed, with a total value of two billion lei. In June, the Express European Village was launched to finance and implement rapid projects in just six months. Through this program, 122 projects for the modernization of the sports infrastructure, development of playgrounds and leisure spaces were completed.
Applications for participation in the competition for European Village 2 can be submitted until March 2024. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
