79 projects included in the European Village and Express European Village programs were completed in November. The government’s investment in their implementation amounts to 60.3 million lei (3 million euros) from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, having a positive impact on the lives of about 175 thousand citizens.
Through the European Village program, ten local development projects were completed, three of which aimed at modernizing the water infrastructure, through the construction of over 30 km of water supply network in five localities. An example is the project in the village of Badragii Noi, Edinet district, where with an investment of almost 9 million lei, a 17 km long aqueduct has been built, as well as a platform for the artesian probe, a drinking water treatment station and two water towers. As a result, access to water and hygiene was ensured for approximately 1600 households in the locality.
Also through the European Village program, six other projects to modernize sports infrastructure and rehabilitate social buildings in different localities, as well as a public lighting system construction project have been completed.
Most completed projects were registered through the Express European Village program – 69 in number, with an emphasis on the modernization of public lighting systems. These projects contributed to the construction of approximately 55 km of street lighting networks. Also, 17 public institutions were rehabilitated.
According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development, so far 245 projects out of 497 have been completed through the European Village program and through the Express European Village program 125 projects out of 399 have been completed. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
