The World Bank will offer the Republic of Moldova a grant worth $88.4 million. The Parliament ratified on August 17 the multi-donor trust fund grant agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association.
Thus, the grant will be disbursed in a single installment and will be intended for the co-financing of the “Program Moldova emergency response, resilience and competitiveness. Development Policy Operation 2”.
The financial assistance, available until September 30, will be granted by the United States of America and Switzerland, based on the eight actions carried out by the Republic of Moldova. The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget, to mitigate the negative effects generated by the war in Ukraine, as well as ensure the resilience and competitiveness of the country.
