On July 17-23, the Customs Service collected over 700.6 million lei (about 35 million euros) to the state budget.
Private people brought goods with customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments of over 25.2 million lei were collected, which represented 3.6% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Last week, 11,598 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 86,536 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leuseni and Sculeni, with 22,957 and 16,142 crossings, respectively.
In the fight against fraud, 75 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 293 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 18.4 billion lei to the state budget, up by 3.6% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
