Energocom company has extended the electricity purchase contract with the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant from the Transnistrian region (MGRES), for June to purchase about 303 thousand MWh. This quantity is 95% of the necessary consumption of the right bank of the Dniester River. The price is $66/MWh, agreed in late March, for a period of six months.
According to Energocom, the rest of the electricity, especially for peak hours, will be purchased from the Romanian OPCOM exchange.
On May 24, Ukraine suspended the export of electricity to neighboring countries. Energocom has since replaced the energy purchased from Ukrhidroenergo with energy purchased from OPCOM. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
