Despite the war, Poland’s trade turnover with Ukraine is at an all-time high, Andrzej Duda, the president of Poland, said during a Polish-Ukrainian Economic Forum held in Warsaw on April 5.
“Before the war, more than a thousand Polish companies operated in Ukraine, and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian companies operated on the Polish market, had contracts with Polish companies and delivered various goods to Poland,” said President Duda. “Today, despite the war, Poland’s trade turnover with Ukraine is at a record-high level and, today, we are Ukraine’s largest trading partner.”
“I believe things will stay this way,” he continued. “It will remain so, because Ukraine is heading in a direction – in accordance with the will of its society – towards the West, the community of Europe, the European Union, countries of democracy and freedom.”
“This is the direction that sovereign Ukraine will certainly head,” the president added.
In his speech at the forum, also attended by his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, Duda said that Ukraine would be rebuilt through joint efforts and be “more beautiful, more modern and set for dynamic development.” (PAP/Business World Magazine)
