On March 13-19, the Customs Service collected over 707.6 million lei (about 35.3 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought goods with customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling more than 16.9 million lei were collected, which represented 2.4% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
At the same time, the past week, 11,569 customs declarations were completed and the flow of means of transport was 60,024 crossings.
In terms of combating fraud, 98 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 300 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service has collected about 7.2 billion lei to the state budget, up by 20.6% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
