More than a hundred delegates participated in the General Assembly of the members of the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters of Moldova “Moldova Fruct”. The agenda of the event included the organization’s activity report, as well as the establishment of priorities for the next period.
According to the executive director of Moldova Fruct, Iurie Fala, last year was full of challenges, but important achievements were also noted.
“In 2022, our apples reached 30 countries, compared to 18 export destinations the previous year. Also, 14.34 thousand tons of cherries were exported, up by 53% YoY,” he said.
Moldova Fruct brings together 180 modern enterprises in the agricultural sector: producers, processors, fruit exporters, as well as service providers. The organization’s strategic objective is to position the Republic of Moldova as a country that has modern orchards and post-harvest infrastructure and can offer high-quality fresh fruit.
