On February 27 – March 5, the Customs Service collected over 726.9 million lei (36.3 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought goods with the value in customs exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments worth more than 20.2 million lei were collected, which represented 2.8% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Last week, 11,516 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 65,872 crossings.
In the fight against fraud, 68 violations of the customs legislation were found and fines of over 277 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 5.8 billion lei from the state budget, up by 18.2% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
