Moldovan farmers can get grants of up to $15 thousand to buy agricultural equipment that will allow them to implement climate change adaptation initiatives. The grants are offered within the Rural Resilience Project, financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), through the Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Programme.
Thus, for agricultural cooperatives, grants of 50% of the cost of agricultural equipment are offered, but no more than $15 thousand per applicant. In the case of businesses or private people operating in agriculture, grants will not be able to exceed the amount of $7,500.
Grant applicants must have at least one year of experience in the field, and the area of land owned or leased must not exceed 50 ha.
The money can be used to procure irrigation systems, no-till seeders, orchard grass cutters, shredders for shredding plant residues, equipment for measuring soil humidity and temperature, anti-hail systems and photovoltaic installations.
The call for grants will be open this year until financial resources are exhausted. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
