On January 16-22, the Customs Service collected over 597.7 million lei (about 30 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought into the country goods with the customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 19.2 million lei were collected, which represented 3.2% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Also, 12,051 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 78,500 crossings.
In terms of the fight against fraud, 34 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 119 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 1.4 billion lei to the state budget, up by 13.4% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
