On January 9, as part of a Ukrainian delegation visit to Africa, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Minister of Agriculture, Rural Infrastructure and Food Sovereignty of the Republic of Senegal Aly Ngouille Ndiaye.
The parties discussed prospects of relations between Ukraine and Senegal, as well as development of cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between the ministries of both countries in the field of agriculture was signed.
The document provides for the development of bilateral trade in agricultural products, cooperation in research, investment, as well as promotion of relations between public institutions and private organizations.
Mykola Solskyi noted that despite the war, the Ukrainian side made every effort to continue exporting food to African countries in the required volumes. According to the minister, Ukraine is ready to increase the export of agricultural products and is open to consider the possibility of implementing new logistics projects in Senegal.
In particular, it is the possibility of storing Ukrainian grain in the so-called grain hubs. Their creation will facilitate predictability of sales, stabilization of food prices for African countries, as well as ensure certainty as to the required volumes and quality of grain.
The visit of the Ukrainian delegation headed by Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solskyi is aimed at deepening cooperation with African countries in the field of agriculture. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
