According to preliminary estimates by Statistics Lithuania, prices in December grew by 20% YoY.
Annual inflation was mainly driven by increases in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel goods and services, and transportation, the statistics service said in a press release on December 29.
Meanwhile, monthly inflation in December stood at 0.1%.
The advance estimate of average annual inflation based on the HICP for December was 18.9%, according to Statistics Lithuania.
Inflation in Lithuania peaked in September, when price increases stood at 24.1% YoY and 2.9% MoM.
In October, inflation was 23.6% and 1.2%, respectively, and in November it was 22.9% and 0.4%. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
