Next year, the Republic of Moldova will implement a program for the development of the livestock sector worth $25 million with the support of the World Bank, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea has said.
According to the minister, producers and processors will have access to financial resources to make investments in infrastructure and technologies, in order to increase the efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of production.
“At the same time, financial support will be granted to improve the level of compliance with production standards and to increase the quality of the final product. Activities to strengthen cooperation between farmers and to develop connections between the research environment and entrepreneurship will also be supported, in order to achieve innovations,” said Vladimir Bolea.
Also, the official made clarifications regarding the granting of financial aid from the state budget in 2023 for the milk production sector. In this context, the minister stated that the subsidization regulation was in the process of being drafted and would be promoted after the approval of the draft law on agricultural subsidies.
