The Federal Government of Germany has announced a contribution of EUR 30 million within the framework of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership for the purchase of equipment to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure damaged by russian shelling. The corresponding funds will be allocated to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, established by the Energy Community Secretariat.
“pootin wants to break Ukrainians and plunge them into the cold with his cruel tactics. We will not allow this to happen. That is why we are mobilizing survival aid, including generators and transformers,” said German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock at the International Donors Conference on December 13 in Paris.
“I sincerely thank Germany for its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The procured equipment will help us to restore electricity supply to the population as soon as possible after the russian shelling, which is critically necessary in this wartime winter,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Artur Lorkowski stressed that Germany’s contribution to the Fund at this critical time was very important. This is the largest contribution to the Fund to date, which will allow repairing the much needed energy infrastructure of Ukraine and thus restoring basic electricity and gas supply services for Ukrainian citizens.
