TAV Georgia, the company operating Tbilisi and Batumi airports, said passenger traffic increased at both venues compared to 2021.
Tbilisi airport serviced 332,999 passengers in October, up by 67% YoY and by 17% from the pre-pandemic figure from 2019, the company said.
Batumi airport serviced 52,536 passengers, up by 17% and by 11% respectively.
In related data published by the Georgian national tourism administration, the number of international traveler visits to Georgia in October recovered from the pre-pandemic year figures by 63.7%.
The statistics also showed last month Georgia hosted 498,477 international travelers, up by 125.9%.
344,595 international tourist type visits were recorded, registering an 82.6% increase compared to the same month of 2021 and a 78.5% recovery from 2019.
Throughout the first 10 months of 2022 Georgia hosted 4,391,082 international travelers (+188.5% YoY and a 54.8% recovery) and 3,048,728 tourists (+137.9% and 68.8%), the GNTA also said. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
