Pegasus Airlines, a Turkiye-based budget airline, is set to launch flights between the Turkish capital of Ankara to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi from November 2, the Georgian economy minister has announced.
The news was announced after a meeting held between the deputy economy minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and representatives from Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines on October 12.
The ministry announced the meeting had discussed possibilities of direct flights between Georgia and Turkiye during all four seasons.
It said the parties had “expressed readiness” to continue operations to the Black Sea city of Batumi in winter with five flights per week, which it said would “further contribute to the growth of tourist flows to Adjara” region.
Both airline companies are considering launching flights to Georgia’s western Kutaisi international airport as well. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
