On October 3-9, the Customs Service collected over 829.6 million lei (about 41.4 million euros) to the state budget, up by 16.4% YoY.
According to the Customs Service, private people brought goods with value in customs exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 18.8 million lei were collected, which represented 2.3% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Also, during the past week, 11,399 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 76,233 crossings.
In the fight against fraud, 39 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 107 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 25.4 billion lei to the state budget, up by 20.7% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
