Georgian health minister Zurab Azarashvili on October 3 said financing of medications against chronic illnesses would be increased by GEL 30 million ($10.68 million) in the 2023 state budget.
He also said the list of subsidised drugs would be expanded as part of the move.
“We will implement reference pricing for medications beginning in January. In the first stage, it will apply to individuals with chronic and oncological conditions. In doing so, GEL 30 million will be allocated following the implementation of reference pricing”, Azarashvili said. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
