This year, 25 farmers submitted applications for subsidizing investments in green energy. The winning projects will be announced after October 30.
The government covers half of entrepreneurs’ investments in green energy systems through several state programs, including subsidies granted by the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA).
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea said that the state through AIPA consistently supported initiatives in green energy.
“For us, investing in renewable energy means reducing production costs in agriculture. We have two subsidy measures in this regard. Both assume coverage of 50% of the investment made by the farmer. It is the highest level of subsidy that can exist in any state in the European Union. This subsidy program is also highly supported by international structures as being very successful,” said Vladimir Bolea.
Renewable energy subsidies are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are submitted to AIPA’s territorial offices on February 1 – October 30. The subsidies are post-investment, the entrepreneurs must first put the facilities into operation. Subsequently, for investments greater than 400 thousand lei (about 20 thousand euros), the applications are checked both financially and on site. Payment is authorized based on the inspection report.
To support the reduction of energy consumption and reduce production costs, last year, the state subsidized projects worth over 13 million lei. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
