On September 12-18, the Customs Service collected over 686.5 million lei to the state budget (about 34.3 million euros), up by 3.5% from the target.
According to the Customs Service, private people brought goods with the customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments worth over 17.1 million lei were collected, which represented 2.5% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.
5,977 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 82,281 crossings.
In terms of combating fraud, 57 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 209 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 23.2 billion lei from the state budget, up by 21.4% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
