Lithuania would have to negotiate with Sweden, from which it imports a large part of its electricity, if the EU adopts a proposal on redistributing the excess profits of low-cost energy producers, Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte has said.
“If this decision is adopted, there will be obligations to share excess profits among member states, if a member state pays for energy to another member state,” the prime minister said.
If the measure is approved, “this will have to be negotiated with other member states. In our case, this is first of all Sweden”, she added. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
