Thai AirAsia X airline will resume charter flights from Bangkok to Tbilisi, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia announced on August 24.
The direct flights on the Bangkok-Tbilisi-Bangkok route will carry passengers twice a week on October 8-29.
The ministry said the flights would also be operated in the winter season, while Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili noted resuming the flights between the two capitals would contribute to ties between civil aviation and tourism sectors of the two states.
“Our policy is aimed at attracting more international airline companies to Georgia. Southeast Asia is one of the target markets for our tourism sector. Therefore, we will actively continue to work to bring airlines from this and other Asian regions to the aviation market of Georgia,” Kvrivishvili said.
