On June 27, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and the country’s leadership agreed on “key principles” for consultations with the European Commission on Kaliningrad transit sanctions.
“There was unanimous agreement today on the key principles and provisions Lithuania should follow in order to clarify certain points to the European Commission,” presidential adviser Kestutis Budrys told reporters without providing more details.
On June 26, presidential spokesperson Ridas Jasiulionis said “the government has been negotiating with the European Commission throughout the weekend, presenting Lithuania’s position on the implementation of the sanctions”. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
