The Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhuzen.
The parties discussed the current state of Ukraine’s energy sector, the situation on the gas market, plans to accumulate fuel for the heating season and the need to vacate the russia-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to ensure nuclear safety in the region.
German Galushchenko said that despite the martial law, Ukraine was ready to increase electricity exports to Europe.
“Ukrainian electricity will help European countries replace russian energy. After synchronization with ENTSO-E, we have already started exporting electricity to Poland and Moldova. However, we have significant potential to increase supplies,” the minister stressed.
Anka Feldhuzen, in turn, noted that the Ukrainian energy sector enjoyed the extraordinary support of the German Government and Germany was ready to provide assistance for the purchase of static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs). Their establishment will increase the opportunities for electricity exports from Ukraine to Europe. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
