The production, labeling and sale of de-alcoholized wines will be made based on new regulations, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Cabinet of Ministers on May 4 approved amendments to the technical regulation, Organization of the Wine and Vine Market, as a result of an increase in the demand on de-alcoholized wines on market and given the need to provide consumers with safe and quality products. At the same time, the new regulations fit the European Union’s standards.
Thus, the process of production of de-alcoholized wines will differ from the production of traditional ones only through the final stage, when the process of partial elimination (from a volume of 0.5% up to 8%) or total (0.5% volume at the most) of alcohol from wine. The alcohol is to be eliminated through evaporation in vacuum, separation through membranes or by the combination of these ways.
So far, the non-alcohol native wines have been exported to Poland, Belarus, Russia, USA and Japan, becoming more and more popular on the world market. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
