On August 15, the capital’s restaurant “Italian Edition” hosted Ferragosto, an Italian summer and harvest festival. The profits from the sale of special dishes on this day will be transferred through the UNITED24 fundraising platform to the “Humanitarian Demining” direction.
The holiday traditionally falls in mid-August and is associated in Italy with the height of summer, harvest and joint celebrations. This year, the restaurant added a Ukrainian context to the tradition – support for humanitarian demining and the return of land to productive use.
The restaurant team prepared a special menu for guests, created especially for Ferragosto, as well as compliments from the chef. This is another way to draw attention to the importance of clearing Ukrainian fields of explosives so that farmers can work the land and harvest safely.
The restaurant will transfer funds received from the sale of dishes from the special menu on August 15 through UNITED24 to support humanitarian demining.
For Ukrainian farmers, demining means the opportunity to work safely on their land again and grow vegetables, grains, fruits, berries, legumes and other crops. As of today, more than 16.4 thousand hectares of agricultural land have already been returned to use within the framework of the state program “Humanitarian Demining”. The cost of their clearance for farmers was fully covered by the state.
This year, Ferragosto in Kyiv combined the Italian tradition of celebrating the harvest with the support of those who returned the ability to produce again to Ukrainian fields. (Economy Ministry)
