Georgia’s wine export growth rate reached more than 40% in January-February, the Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia said on March 21, adding the figure reflected the “purposeful policy” of the Georgian Government.
Shamugia noted exports of agricultural products were increasing as well, pointing out the state’s support for market diversification, and saying the list of countries where Georgian products were exported was also increasing.
He also said a “significant increase” was registered in 2021 in exports of agricultural products, amounting to more than $200 million.
In January-February, export of wine of fresh grapes totaled $33.2 million, up by 43.9%.
Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $760.4 million in the first two months of 2022, up by 54.5%. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
