As the spread of Covid-19 in Latvia has decreased among children, the Latvian government has decided to lift the requirement for minors to present the digital Covid-19 certificate to prove their vaccination or recovery from the disease to attend events and receive services provided indoors or in the presence of an adult having one of the two Covid-19 certificates.
The decisions were made on February 14 and would come into force on March 1.
Children will be able again to freely access all services, shops and attend events. Children in Latvia will, however, be required to show their ID document to prove their age.
As to shopping businesses, the government decided to lift the 23.00 to 6.00 working-hours’ restriction, allowing businesses, which worked in the epidemiologically safe, or green, environment, to be more flexible organizing their work.
The changes to come into force from March 1 will not affect the restrictions on working hours to other businesses and event organizers. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
