In January-September, freight volume handled in the Port of Liepaja climbed by 8% YoY, to 5.06 million tons, the Port Authority reported.
Handling of grain and cereal products rose by 1.4%, to 1.92 million tons, while handling of anthracite – sank by 88.3%, to 28,800 tons, handling of building materials fell by 4.3%, to 549,200 tons, and handling of oil products dropped by 8.6%, to 334,500 tons.
Handling of Ro-Ro cargo rose by 63%. to 46,999 units.
In the reporting period, the port serviced 32,772 passengers, up by 38%.
