The Uzbek government eyes to improve the system of development of professional qualifications and knowledge of personnel in various fields of activity.
According to a government decree, a special Institute for Labor Market Research has been approved under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations.
Starting from November 1, the Institute of Labor is to form and support a system for assessing the need for qualified personnel and a database of professional standards and independent evaluation and a unified database of professions that are in high demand during labor migration.
The activities of the Labor Institute will be funded by the state fund for employment promotion and other sources not prohibited by legislative acts.
The development of professional skills and knowledge, in particular, will be facilitated by the regulation on industry councils, as well as the model regulation on the Qualification Assessment Center.
Until the end of this year, the new institution will develop:
– The concept of labor rationing in Uzbekistan that meets the requirements of a modern market economy;
– Measures for the formation of a mechanism for strategic management of the system for the development of professional qualifications and knowledge. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
