Ukraine International Airlines performed 2,039 scheduled flights in January-June, down by 49% YoY and by 85% compared with H1 2019, the company’s press service reported.
UIA performed 2,108 charter flights in the first half of 2021, compared to 266 in the same period of 2020 and 1,172 in the same period of 2019.
During January-June, the airline transported 1,088,928 passengers, up by 8% YoY, but down by 71% compared with H1 2019. Of this number, 375,346 passengers used the airline’s scheduled flights (917,359 in 2020 and 3,384,536 in 2019), and 713,564 used charter flights (83,470 in 2020 and 433,888 in 2019).
In addition, in the first six months of this year, UIA carried 1,937 tons of cargo and mail, down by 45% YoY and by 82% from H1 2019. In the first half of 2021, the airline returned more than $23 million to passengers. In total, from April 2020 to June 2021, the airline returned over $44 million to passengers.
