The regions of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan held a business forum in Tashkent.
The event saw Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov and mayor of the Tashkent region Davron Hidoyatov. Over 100 representatives of the business communities of Tatarstan and several regions of Uzbekistan joined the event.
The participants underlined the great potential for the development of industrial cooperation in the agro-industrial sphere, food, textile, electrical, chemical, machine-building industries, as well as in the production of building materials. They stressed the broad prospects for combining the resources and technological capabilities of manufacturers of Tatarstan and various regions of Uzbekistan to create joint high-tech industries to produce high-demand products.
The participants of the delegations visited the industrial exhibition of Tatarstan manufacturers, got acquainted with the manufactured products, implemented joint projects and plans of entrepreneurs for further expansion of cooperation.
Following the forum, the administrations of the Tashkent region and the capital city, as well as the government of Tatarstan, inked road maps to expand cooperation for 2021-2022, including specific measures to develop partnership in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, exchange of experience in urban planning, municipal administration, transport, housing and communal services, landscaping and social support, as well as the implementation of specific investment projects.
