According to Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, interest rates on loans in the country have decreased compared to 2020.
The average rate on loans in the national currency since the beginning of the year has remained in the range of 20-21%, while in April it was 21.3%. At the same time, the average rate in 2020 was 22.2%.
The weighted average interest rate on foreign currency loans was at the level of 6.8-7.1% and in April – 6.8%. Last year, the average rate was 6.9%, while the highest indicator was in March – 7.7%.
In February, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Behzod Khamraev said that the regulator temporarily took measures to regulate interest rates in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and the crisis, but this practice was no longer valid from 2021.
