Since 2004, the total amount of financial resources provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Ukraine, both in the public and private sectors, has exceeded EUR 7.5 billion.
The press service of the Finance Ministry informed this following an online review of the European Investment Bank’s project portfolio on May 18.
The EIB’s project portfolio in the public sector in Ukraine amounts to 25 projects totaling EUR 5.27 billion.
During the discussion, representatives of the Finance Ministry and the European Investment Bank reviewed the current state of development and implementation of joint projects, as well as agreed on an action plan for the next period. In particular, the problematic issues of the projects currently being implemented in Ukraine were discussed, as well as further steps to eliminate these issues.
During the online meeting, Deputy Finance Minister Oleksandr Kava noted that credit resources provided by the EIB were an important source of financing for state development projects.
“We appreciate the support of our international partners, including the EIB, in the development of the public sector of the Ukrainian economy. Today, the EIB’s portfolio in public sector projects is the largest among international financial institutions,” said Kava. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
