JCB, the largest payment system of Japan, is entering the Ukrainian market, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports.
“The National Bank of Ukraine has agreed on the terms and conditions for its activity in Ukraine. The international JCB Payment System will provide services of acquiring, cash disbursement and payment for goods and services by system’s payment cards,” reads the report.
The National Bank notes that the entering of the world’s leading player will expand the opportunities to receive services in the Ukrainian payment market. It will also help establish closer relations between Ukraine and Japan.
JCB Payment System is the fifth international card payment system in Ukraine with a non-resident payment institution. It is Japan’s largest payment system and one of the world’s seven leading payment systems. It ranks third among all card payment systems in the number of card acceptance points.
