The number of passengers serviced by Ukrainian transport companies in January-October decreased by 53.7% (2.2-fold) YoY, to 41.8 billion passenger-kilometers, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service.
Over the reporting period, 2.13 passengers used the services of domestic transport companies, down by 39.8%.
In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in January-October reached 57.5 million, down by 55.9%; passenger turnover totaled 9 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.7-fold).
Some 902 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles in January-October, down by 40.1%, passenger turnover amounted to about 15.96 billion passenger-kilometers (-43.7%).
Ukrainian airlines carried 4.3 million passengers over the reporting period, down 2.8-fold; passenger turnover amounted to 7.90 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.8-fold).
Some 0.3 million passengers used water transport services in January-October (down 2.5-fold); passenger turnover amounted to 3.9 million passenger-kilometers (down 6.6-fold). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
