Ukraine and Algeria will create an intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation.
“Within the framework of the political consultations, Ukraine and Algeria intend to sign a bilateral agreement on the establishment of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation which is an effective tool to promote trade and investment, as well as to hold a business forum with leading Ukrainian and Algerian companies,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba during a phone call with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Algeria Sabri Boukadoum.
Kuleba stressed it was unacceptable that vital bilateral contacts at the political level were not taking place with key countries of the region, in particular Algeria, which became Ukraine’s second largest trading partner in Africa in 2019.
The ministers agreed to hold next month the second round of the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Algeria, during which a wide range of bilateral issues would be discussed: from supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity on the international arena to developing cooperation in industry, education and tourism.
Kuleba also invited Boukadoum to pay an official visit to Ukraine at his convenience. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
