Georgian wine producers participated in the international wine fair VinExpo 2020 in the capital of France, Paris.
Chairman of the National Wine Agency Levan Mekhuzla said that showcasing Georgian wines at such exhibitions was crucial for finding new trading partners.
“The National Wine Agency continues to support the private sector in order to present Georgian wines at all major exhibitions throughout the world. Such exhibitions are a unique opportunity to raise awareness of Georgian wines and to reach the global market”, said Mekhuzla.
Representatives attended a Georgian wine masterclass, which was held by famous British journalist and wine writer, Andrew Jefford.
“I’ve been working in the field of wine-making for 30 years. I discovered Georgian wine six years ago. Both traditional and classic Georgian wines are excellent for me. Qvevri-made (Qvevri is a traditional Georgian egg-shaped vessel, that is used for making, ageing and storing the wine) wine is always a novelty, different, diverse, unique, something you cannot taste elsewhere. I’m happy that I had the opportunity to taste and present the unique taste of Georgian wines to others today”, said Jefford. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
