Freight volume handled in the Port of Liepaja in January-May fell by 2.7% YoY, to 3,067,300.
In the reporting period, transshipment of grain fell by 21.3%, to 1,081,300 tons, while that of anthracite grew by 8%, to 267,800 tons, construction materials – by 45.2%, to 380,000 tons, and oil products – by 1.5%, to 162,200 tons.
Container traffic decreased by 4%, to 1.330 million TEUs, but handling of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 10%, to 17,590 units.
The number of calls grew by 15%, to 732, but passenger traffic decreased by 18%, to 12,658 passengers. (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
