Ukraine’s industrial production declined by 2.9% in January compared to January 2018, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
According to the seasonally adjusted index of the state statistics agency, industrial output in January 2019 shrank by 0.5% compared to December 2018.
According to unadjusted indices, the drop in industrial production last month was 3.3% against January 2018 and 13.8% against December 2018.
The mining industry and the development of quarries demonstrated a 1% drop in January 2019 compared to January 2018 (1.6% according to the unadjusted index) and a 1.2% drop compared to December 2018 (4.3% according to the unadjusted index).
This year’s January figures of the processing industry are 4.8% lower than a year earlier (5.5% according to the unadjusted index), however, they are 0.9% higher than in December 2018 (20.5% lower according to the unadjusted index).
Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply in January grew by 0.3% YoY (by 1.3% according to the unadjusted index), but dropped by 3.3% MoM (by 2.9% according to the unadjusted index).
According to the State Statistics Service, industrial production in Ukraine in 2018 grew by 1.6% YoY. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
