Construction work on Bishkek – Kara-Balta road will be resumed in early March under favorable and suitable weather conditions, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The head of the Ministry of Transport, Zhanat Beishenov, made a working trip to Chui region. He also looked at implementation of the project for reconstruction of Bishkek-Kara-Balta road. Construction work on the site is temporarily suspended due to weather conditions.
“Work on winter maintenance of the road is currently conducted. The general contractor was working on the construction of artificial structures (pipes and bridges) until January 15. Despite the winter period, work on provision of inert materials to produce sufficient volume by the upcoming construction season is underway,” the Ministry of Transport stressed.
China Railway No. 5 is engaged in rehabilitation of Bishkek-Kara-Balta highway. The total amount of the contract is $70,239 million. The works are planned to be completed in 2021. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
