About $55 million will be spent on construction of Tyup-Kegen road in Kyrgyzstan, Renata Esembaeva, Acting Director of the World Bank Investment Projects Implementation Group, reported at a session of Onuguu-Progress faction.
According to her, 50% of the amount is a grant, and the second half is a loan.
“There is a project for the construction of Batken-Isfana-Khujand road, together with JICA we are planning to build Tyup-Kegen road, as well as the roads to Karakol tourist base. The project of Osh-Batken-Isfana road is at the stage of detailed planning,” Renata Esembaeva said.
The leader of the faction, Bakyt Torobaev, said that, in addition to building the road, it was also needed to develop a system of services that could be provided. In particular, he was concerned about the lack of toilets on the highways of Kyrgyzstan. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
