Georgia’s monthly inflation rate amounted to -0.3% in July, while annual inflation from July 2017 to July 2018 amounted to 2.8%, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Last month prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1.1%. Prices decreased for: fruit and grapes (-12.6%) and vegetables (-10.7%).
In the meantime, the prices increased for milk, cheese and eggs (2.7%).
Transport-related costs increased by 1.2% in July. Prices increased for transport services (1.7%) and operation of personal transport equipment (1.3%). Meanwhile, prices decreased for the subgroup of purchase of vehicles (-1.6%).
As for clothing and footwear, prices in this group decreased by 1.4%. Specifically, prices decreased for footwear (-2.4%) and clothing (-1%), said Geostat. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
