The number of passengers served by Ukrainian transport companies in January-March decreased by 2.6% YoY, according to the data released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
“In January-March 1,120.9 million passengers used transportation services in Ukraine, or 97.4% of the volume in the same period in 2017 (excluding the temporarily occupied territories in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and some parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions),” reads the report.
In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in the first three months of 2018 made up 36.7 million, down by 4% YoY.
A total of 483 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles, down by 4.6%.
Transportation of passengers by water transport decreased by 72.7%. Only 0.001 million passengers used this transport.
At the same time, transportation of passengers by air transport rose to 6,152 million, or by 4.5% YoY. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
