In January Belarusian Railways transported 12.143 million tons of freight, up by 127.5% YoY, the company’s press service reported.
Export freight reached 4.5 million tons, up by 30%. Transit freight grew by 11.6%, to 3.76 million tons. Belarusian Railways secured the loading of about 7 million tons of freight, up by 33%. Freight turnover of the railway transport reached 4.178 billion tariff ton-kilometers, up by 30%.
In January Belarusian Railways transported 5.396 million passengers, up by 2.3%. The number of international passengers rose by 1.3%, to over 230,000 people. The number of transit passengers went up by 1.1%, to about 37,000 people. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
