The banking system of Ukraine, including both solvent and insolvent financial institutions, saw UAH 25.972 billion in losses in 2017, down 6-fold YoY.
According to the data released on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine, solvent banks in 2017 reported a UAH 24.360 billion loss, while insolvent ones saw a loss of UAH 1.612 billion. In total, 64 out of 82 solvent banks received profits amounting to UAH 15.925 billion, while the remaining 18 solvent banks recorded a UAH 40.284 billion loss.
The biggest losses over the year were reported at PrivatBank (UAH 22.966 billion), Prominvestbank (UAH 7.656 billion), and VTB Bank (UAH 4.112 billion).
The largest profit was received by Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 4,469 billion), UkrSibBank (UAH 1,467 billion) and Credit Agricole Bank (UAH 1,110 billion). (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
