Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman believes that Ukraine and the Republic of Malta should strengthen economic cooperation.
He said this during a meeting with President of the Republic of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca in Kyiv, the governmental portal reported.
“We welcome the readiness of our chambers of commerce and industry to establish a bilateral permanent Cooperation Council in the field of modern technologies and services,” Groysman said.
He has noted that it is necessary to strengthen the economic component of cooperation between two states. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in seven months of 2017, the bilateral trade turnover increased almost 3-fold, to $36.8 million.
The prime minister has assured that Ukraine is following the path of reforms and has already achieved some success.
In turn, the president of Malta assured that her government was and would be a friend of Ukraine. The idea of creating a Cooperation Council will help develop the economy of two states and deepen the investment cooperation. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
