The first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be commissioned in December 2019, Anatoly Bondar, Chief Engineer of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, said.
It was reported earlier that the first unit was scheduled to come online in 2019, and the second one in 2020.
“The deadline for the commissioning of the first unit is December 2019. Our task is to ensure the full readiness and this is what we will be working towards,” Anatoly Bondar said.
The reactor pressure vessel, all the four steam generators, and an overhead crane of the transport sluice of the first power-generating unit have already been installed.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is built using the Russian generation III+ design AES-2006 near Ostrovets, Grodno region. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
