As of August 20, a total of 1,889.500 hectares, or 87%, of areas under crops have been harvested in Belarus so far. The harvest campaign has been completed in Brest region (the yield is 36.7 hundredweights per hectare), the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry reported.
As of August 20, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 6.779 million tons. Minsk region harvested more than 1,691.500 tons, Grodno region – 1,246.200 tons and Brest region 1,224.500 tons. The harvest of Mogilev region reached 1,005,400 tons. Gomel region cropped 947,000, Vitebsk region – 664,100 tons.
This year, the average yield makes up 35.9 hundredweights per hectare, with Grodno region leading with 43.5 hundredweights per hectare. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
